The Secretary of State is responsible for the initial creation and certain maintenance filings for all domestic state and out-of-state business entities including for-profit and nonprofit corporations, specialized business entities such as professional corporations, close corporations, agricultural cooperatives and mutual associations, and limited liability companies, limited partnerships and many others. The Corporations Division provides the forms and resources necessary for businesses and entrepreneurs to form their entity and maintain good standing status.
