A Federally recognized indian tribe that provides numerous health, education, housing, and social service programs to Micmac Indians and other Native Americans in Aroostook County. The Economic Development Department provides services to people the tribe serves under its Micmac Self Sufficiency Program. Available assistance includes business startup training, business plan development, financial and technical assistance to small businesses owned by tribal members, seed grants for tribal members, and employment assistance for tribal members.
