A nonprofit, membership-based organization established in 1968 that promotes fine crafts created by Maine artisans. Member benefits include participating in SSMC sponsored shows, meetings, newsletters and the Stone Soup Artisans retail outlet in Saco. Membership is open to all legal residents of the state of Maine. SSMC promotes high standards of craftsmanship and through a jury process, member works are evaluated based on originality, imagination, workmanship and design. Two craft media are allowed per membership.
